GreenTARA Space is so happy to be moving forward on this Cuban-American Friendship Exchange project : CAFÉxchange for June 2023. This will be our main focus for the year.

Friends of GreenTARA, Inc has joined forces with CAFS and VICII to create this cultural exchange project between the people of Cuba and the people of Vermont. We have invited four Cuban photographers and they are: Tomas Inda Barrera, Alfredo Sarabia Fajardo, and Yadira Ismael Sotomayor.  The fourth photographer Nadhiesda Inda Gonzalez will be coming from Argentina. 

Their work talks to the social contract we have with the environment, humanity, workers, and cultural constructions. The international level of their photographic art is world-class and we are very honored to be able to invite them to Vermont.

Events are planned for the Darkroom Gallery, 12 Main Street, Essex Junction, VT and a parallel show Vermonters’ Views of Cuba in the Pickering Room, Fletcher Free Library, Burlington, VT —as well as a winter tour of their work around the state. Stay tuned for specific dates and places!

Note : All the Cuban photographs are for sale, and some of the Vermont one as well. This is an effort to support Cuban artists due to the post-pandemic economic fall, and of course, the ongoing 50-year USA boycott.
