GREAT ICE at City Bay, North Hero!
Join us at GreenTARA starting at 12:30pm Saturday Feb 16, 2019 for an afternoon of Ice Music, cocoa, and the film Chasing Ice at 4:30pm. Sound Artist, Ben Mayock will be on the ice recording live and streaming the amazing acoustic sounds into the Gallery, then at 3:45pm he’ll play his looped autoharp to the ice sounds — whether you want to ski, skate, or track animal prints on the Lake, as many of us will be doing, do stop and say hi! Also at 4:30pm we’ll be showing James Balog’s amazing Chasing Ice film — even if you’ve seen it before, it stuns every time. Sunday we’ll be skiing across to Knight’s Island — see you out there. Can’t you tell? I love the beauty of winter.
TRANSFORMATION: Basement space into Workshop, Video, & Meditation spaces!
Transformation Space: the basement is becoming a designated Workshop Rental and Video Viewing / Meditation Space with tatami mats aka “the Temple of Light and Dark.”

WINTER is here!
November snows, early skiing, and winter tracking bring reflection and dancing light. We need to keep beauty in our hearts and gratitude in our step.
Fall is in the air...
One more month of gallery art and coffee before Gallery closes, but plans afoot for amazing exhibits in 2019. Meanwhile good friends to talk with, a few pop ups events to schedule, also swimming in the lake, bringing in the docks, and many rowing and sailing days to go!
“A prayer among friends” from Of Earth by John Daniels
Among other wonders of our lives, we are alive with one another, we walk here in the light of this unlikely world - that isn’t ours for long. May we spend generously the time we are given. May we enact our responsibilities as thoroughly as we enjoy our pleasures. May we see the clarity; may we seek a vision that serves all beings; may we honour the mystery… may we hold… the gift of good work and bear it forth, whole. We are born forth by a power and we give praise to this One Earth, with love.

SPOON CARVING WORKSHOP
SUNDAY August 19, 9-4pm Spoon Carving Workshop with Alex Forbes and her Wonder Wagon traveling studio. If interested please contact me ASAP - Diane Gayer at greentaraspace@gmail.com
This one-day workshop leads participants through the creation of their own cooking / serving ladle out of cherry, maple, mahogany or other hardwood. Starting with a conversation about design and use, participants will choose wood and begin designing and shaping their spatula. You will be using a band saw to cut out the initial shape and then using a number of hand carving and shaping tools including gouges, spoke shaves and rasps. Then carvers will shape and finish a spatula to a fine polish ready for the kitchen.
This workshop is for anyone hankering to carve a ladle, spoon or spatula and who likes working with their hands. Beginners and experienced carvers welcome. Alex’s workshop can be seen here: http://vimeo.com/84880454
